Markley is the youngest of four boys, born and raised in Nederland, Texas. He enjoyed playing football, participating in debate, yearbook, and academic decathlon during high school.

After graduating, he attended the University of Houston, where he pursued a degree in Political Philosophy from the Honors College. In addition to his studies, he co-founded COOG Radio, the university’s student-led radio station, served as Director of Governmental Relations for the Student Government Association, and led the university’s Model Arab League. 

Upon receiving his B.A., he worked for the Department of Veteran Affairs as a quality analyst and moved in with his brother, a teacher in Pasadena, Texas. Together they tried several local churches. Thankfully, after searching for a good fit, they visited Clear Lake UMC in Houston and instantly felt at home. 

Markley became very involved in their worship band and Bible studies. In 2016, after being invited to a Walk to Emmaus, he heard his call to ministry and sprang into action. In the summer of 2017, he became the youth director at Clear Lake UMC. Following this, he earned his Local Pastor license and was appointed their Associate Pastor in 2021.

Still pursuing his calling, he's currently enrolled at the SMU Perkins School of Theology. He's on track to graduate next spring and be commissioned as an Elder at the Texas Annual Conference in 2027. 

At a small CLUMC group study in 2018, he met his wife, Michelle. They were married in 2022 and welcomed their beautiful daughter, Evette, in 2024.

Markley is deeply passionate about worship, community, and the ways worship leads us to loving and serving the community.

Shane is a graduate of the University of North Texas School of Music. He has a passion for sharing the Gospel through music and loves to work with people of all ages, especially teenagers! He is gift in choral directing and empowering youth to grow in their faith.

Breanna serves as the assistant to the Director of Youth Ministries. For over five years, she has planned meals and meaningful activities that help youth better understand God's love. Breanna's passion is helping youth grow closer to God and experience His love.

Alita serves as the assistant to the Pastor and manages the church office. With years of experience in small business finances as well as extensive work with non-profits as a volunteer, Alita is a great addition to our church staff team.
